As 2024 is rolling out its first month, I have taken a deep dive into my POV (point of view or, as others call it, my USP (unique selling point) over the last six months. After deep diving and helping my clients craft the strongest marketing videos and photos to evoke the viewer to want what they have, I take them through these little exercises. Are you looking to craft a strong message? The blog has tips to craft and evoke your vision.
Crafting a unique selling point (USP) aligned with your vision and passions is essential in distinguishing yourself in a competitive market. We can start shaping a USP that encapsulates these qualities. Let's break it down into steps:
1. Define Your Vision
My vision is mainly centered around creating impactful, emotionally resonant stories in brief formats. This can be refined to:
"To revolutionize short-form advertising by weaving compelling, emotionally engaging narratives that captivate audiences and create lasting connections."
Take five and write down what your vision is. Keep it short and sweet.
2. Identify Your Strengths and Differentiators
For me, it's all about the Creativity in Storytelling. My ability to see and craft stories in concise formats is unique. This requires a look at the emotional intelligence of the viewer and what I want. For example, I focus on striking emotions as a key strength.
Visionary Outlook: Being forward-thinking in how your advertising can evolve.
3. Tailor Your USP
Considering your vision and strengths. Example of mine:
"I specialize in transforming brief moments into powerful stories that resonate deeply with audiences. With a blend of creativity, emotional intelligence, and a visionary approach, I create short-form ads that are not just seen but felt, leaving a lasting impact in seconds."
4. Implementation
Before working with a client, I ask how the network is, what their portfolio (website) is saying, what their networking (social media) is saying, and whether they grow with continuous learning for themself and their company. Think of it like this: Do you want a haircut from someone trained in the 70s who never took another workshop or class? Believe me, YOU DON'T!
Portfolio: Showcase ads you've created that tell a story in a few seconds.
Networking: Connect with industry professionals who value emotional and creative advertising.
Continual Learning: Keep up with advertising, psychology, and storytelling trends to enhance your skills.
5. Communicating Your USP
Pitch: When introducing yourself, use your USP to summarize what you bring.
Online Presence: Reflect this USP on your LinkedIn, personal website, or professional platforms.
Marketing Materials: Ensure your business cards, brochures, etc., reflect this unique vision.
6. Evaluating and Evolving
Feedback: Regularly seek feedback to refine your approach.
Adaptation: Be open to evolving your USP as you grow professionally and as market demands change.
It's not just about setting yourself apart; it's about being true to what drives you and how you want to impact the world.
